The City of Minneapolis undertook a comprehensive reconstruction of Hennepin Avenue from Lake Street to Douglas Avenue. As a key business and entertainment corridor in the Uptown neighborhood, the project introduced a protected two-way bikeway, dedicated transit lanes, expanded pedestrian areas, and hardscaped medians to enhance safety and accessibility. The corridor plays a vital role in the city’s transit network, demonstrated by coordination efforts with the METRO B Line and METRO E Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects. Alliant led the traffic analysis, preliminary design, neighborhood bikeway routing option evaluation, utility coordination, signal, lighting design, and construction administration and inspection services.
