As part of the team selected to develop the City of Inglewood’s Traffic Management Operations Plan (TMOP), Alliant conducted signal timing optimization for half of the City’s traffic signals for normal baseline conditions (75 signals) as well as for events held at nearby SoFi stadium (135 signals). The City of Inglewood is largely comprised of residential homes and local businesses. Events at the stadium can draw upwards of 22,000 vehicles, shuttles, and charter buses into the area. These surges can strain traffic operations and increase traffic delays on city streets before and after events.
A primary objective of the TMOP is to help mitigate traffic delay on city streets before and after events and improve patron experience. Alliant developed the regional distribution model, modal split, and developed a citywide Synchro model used to develop signal timing plans for the events. Alliant also completed implementation of the new signal timing plans for upcoming LA Rams and Chargers football games and other special events in and around the stadium.
